What you receive after a SHE Pre-Qual Tōtika assessment
When SHE Pre-Qual approves your Tōtika assessment, you receive two documents: a one-page Certificate of Pre-Qualification and a full assessment report.
Both are in RapidCert. Sign in at app.rapidcert.co.nz and open your approved assessment to view or download them as PDFs.
What the certificate shows
Your Certificate of Pre-Qualification shows:
- Awarded to: your business name, with your trading name and NZBN where they are on your record
- Assessment and Certification: the SHE Pre-Qual Tōtika assessment you completed
- Category: your Tōtika category
- Score: your overall assessment score as a percentage
- Performance Status: Performing or Developing
- Approved: your approval status and the date SHE Pre-Qual approved your assessment
- Valid Until: the date your assessment expires
What the full report shows
The full report shows your result for each section of the assessment as a percentage, with feedback on every question. Use it to see what met the standard and what to strengthen before your next assessment.
Some buyers ask to see the report as well as the certificate. Under the Tōtika Scheme Rules, suppliers provide buyers with assessment reports when requested.
How long it's valid
How long your Tōtika certificate lasts depends on your category. The Valid Until date on your certificate shows exactly when it expires.
- Sole Trader: two years
- Category 1: two years
- Category 2: one year
- Category 3: one year
Showing buyers your Tōtika result
Share your certificate: send the PDF to buyers, principals or councils that ask for proof, and include it with tenders and supplier applications. If a buyer asks for more detail, share the full report too.
Record it with Tōtika: register with Tōtika for free if you have not already, then sign in to your Tōtika supplier dashboard at app.totika.org/login. Tōtika guidance asks suppliers to upload proof of a Tōtika-recognised assessment to their dashboard so buyers can see their status.
Under the Tōtika Scheme Rules, member buyers can see your listing and the documents you upload, and suppliers who are registered but not yet assessed are not visible on the register.
Is it "certification" or "accreditation"?
People search for Tōtika certification, Tōtika accreditation and Tōtika certificate, and buyers use all three. Strictly, Tōtika is prequalification: Tōtika describes itself as a pre-qualification cross-recognition scheme, and a member scheme such as SHE Pre-Qual assesses your health and safety system against the Tōtika standard for your category.
Your certificate is the proof of that assessment. It is not the same as certification to a standard such as ISO 45001, which Tōtika recognises separately. If a tender asks for Tōtika certification or accreditation, check the exact wording with the buyer if you are unsure what they need.
Lost your certificate?
You can download it again from RapidCert. Sign in at app.rapidcert.co.nz and open your approved assessment to find your certificate and full report. If you cannot sign in or cannot find it, contact SHE Pre-Qual.
What happens when it expires
Your Tōtika assessment ends on the Valid Until date on your certificate. SHE Pre-Qual sends reminders before your certificate expires, so you have time to renew. Your business may have changed since your last assessment, so check the category guide first, then read about renewing your Tōtika prequalification.
